Well, we're finally moved in after traveling over the holidays and doing a little pre move in work to the place. I was in a situation where this is my first home, so I knew nothing about what the process was, what to look for, even what I should expect. She was very helpful in this respect. She knew the answers to all of my questions and explained everything to me in a very simple manner. We went and saw a several different places on several different occasions. After the first round of looking, Karen was very quick to recognize if I would like a place or not immediately upon walking in. Karen was also very good in helping me figure out what I could afford. Irene Rojas I am a 27 year-old Latina female who was residing with her parent's. My mother is from Puerto Rico and my father is Mexico . They are both traditional and OLD SCHOOL! Needless to say they were extremely disappointed that I was not leaving the house "in white." (More so my father) From the beginning Karen was sensitive and considerate to my culture. She referred a lawyer who spoke Spanish, who also was wonderful! The whole closing was done in Spanish, due to my parent's being present. Being a first time buyer of course I did not have ANYTHING. Owen and Carl One day we were walking past a new building in our neighborhood and saw that they were having an open house. On a whim we dropped in to take a look at the units for sale. The gentleman who showed us the units was friendly and shared lots of information with us about the building as well as other units for sale in the neighborhood. That's how we met George Gianos of Coldwell Banker. There was no pressure and no commitment, but George told us to call him if we needed any advice or had questions about real estate in the neighborhood. Although we weren't sure we could afford one of the units in the building, we told George we would call him if we had any questions. After we talked about how wonderful it would be to upgrade to a new/ larger condo we called our mortgage broker to discuss if it would be financially feasible. He told us what price we would have to get on the sale of our condo in order to secure a loan on the new/larger condo that George showed us. We agreed that if we could meet our price break on the sale of our unit then we would take the plunge and purchase a new home. We went to George and presented our proposal; if he could market our place and get us what we needed for our unit, we would purchase a unit in the building where we first met him. George agreed to work with us and came over one night to look at our unit. He made suggestions about what we should do to get our place ready for showings and open houses. When we followed George's advice we were discouraged by the amount of work that had to be done. It seemed like there was so much to do! Was it really all necessary? Would it pay off? Well, apparently George knew what he was talking about. We had our first open house and three days later we had an offer! We thought it would take months and instead it took days. George (and Karen) stayed with us every step of the way, right up to the closings. We couldn't be happier with how smoothly everything went and how George and Karen were able to keep everything on track throughout the whole process. We are in our new home now and we love it! Although we don't plan on moving again any time soon, if we decide to do so we wouldn't hesitate to pick up the phone and call George and Karen again.
